David Wilson Slifer

Passed away on August 14, 2025 at the age of 86.

Predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Diane (Osterman) Slifer; parents, Shannon W. Slifer & Edith (Kuhn) Slifer; brothers, Richard P. Slifer & Shannon Charles "Charlie" Slifer.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn R. Allen; grandchildren, Brett, Jessica "JJ", & Abigail "Abbey"; sister-in-law, Pat Terzo; son-in-law, Andrew Sternklar.

He proudly served as a cook in the Army, where his skill in the kitchen brought comfort to many. Back home, he was the family’s go-to auto mechanic and all-around handyman, always ready to roll up his sleeves to fix a car or tackle a household project. But more than anything, he cherished time with his loved ones-whether it was sharing a home-cooked meal, working side-by-side in the garage, or simply sitting together and talking for hours. His greatest joy came from caring for his family and being present in their lives.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
