Walter J. Nelson "Papa" passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, age 79. He was a loving, devoted, passionate husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Walter is predeceased by his parents, siblings, son, daughter-in-law, and great-grandson.
Survived by his wife of 57 years, Florine Nelson, son; Roderick (Shawne) Nelson. Daughters; Felicia Nelson, Fedelia (Ulysses) Nelson-Polk, Frenchia (James) Colbert, and Floretta Nelson, 21 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
