Debbie Crocker passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, at the age of 80, loving wife, mother, and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Crocker of 58 years and daughters Holly and Jill.
Born in Philadelphia in 1945, shortly after, moved to Kennett Square, PA. Upon graduating high school, she attended Northeastern University and graduated from Becker Junior College in Worchester, MA. She then settled in Boston and worked in the advertising field. Met and married her husband Bill who worked at Xerox, had two daughters and then all moved to Rochester, NY where Debbie continued to work in the design business part time while her children were young. When the children got older, she worked for several Accounting Firms.
She became involved in the Park Road PTSA and took on the presidency of that organization. Later she became involved in the Pittsford District PTSA where she served as Vice President and then President. She decided to run for the Pittsford Board of Directors and served 6 years, 2 as President. She Also co-chaired the Pittsford Mustang Soccer Club annual tournaments for 6 years.
After her children were out of high school, Debbie became an avid gardener and her gardens were featured in the Democrat & Chronicle Garden Section high-lighting a variety of different perennials. Her love of flowers allowed her to make dried and silk flower arrangements and wreaths that were admired and purchased by many.
Deb was always a lover of animals, especially rescuing cats. At one point we lived with 6 cats and a rabbit. All were treated like kings and queens. She became involved with Pet Pride of New York and was not only the Shelter Manager for the organization but serves on their Board of Directors. As Shelter Manager, she was able to seek out monitory deals with suppliers to benefit the shelter. She also started a program to train and bring a therapy cat to some of the nursing homes to visit the patients.
The family would especially like to thank the Hospice Care Team at University of Rochester for their compassion and kindness during Deb's illness. They were extremely thoughtful, gentle, and caring throughout the whole process.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 6th, 2026 at 11:00AM at Newcomer Cremations and Funerals (6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to either Keller's Kats Rescue or Rochester Animal Services at Verona St.
