Westa, Diane E. (Daubney)
Irondequoit: March 15, 2011. Diane passed peacefully into the presence of Christ at age 53 after living courageously for 17 months with cancer. She is predeceased by her parents, Carl D. and Frances S. (Simmons) Clark of Albany. She is survived by her husband Jon; her 3 children, Allison (Dan) Demato, Caroline Daubney and William Daubney; grandson, Logan Demato; step-mother, Donna Clark; and other family members. Diane was a 1976 honors graduate of Colonie Central High School. She moved to Rochester in 1990. She held positions at Buffalo X-Ray Corp, Highland Hospital and most recently at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Irondequoit as church secretary. She served as a Girl Scout Leader, Youth Group Leader, Sunday School Teacher and was a team member on missions trips to Romania and Bolivia sponsored by Browncroft Community Church. Diane was much loved by all who knew her and inspired many by her faith in Christ, her sense of humor and her love of life.
Calling hours will be held Friday, March 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 10 AM at Webster Bible Church, 675 Holt Road. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park. Diane's family would like to thank Dr. Bushunow and staff at the Lipson Cancer Center at RGH, the staff and volunteers at Sunset House in Irondequoit, Diane's church family at Webster Bible Church and Sally, Cathy and the staff at New York Line of Hair Design for their care during Diane's illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lipson Cancer Center, Sunset House or Webster Bible Church.
