Diane L. Zona

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 18, 2026 at the age of 75.

Predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Frances Batz; sisters, Kathy and Cindy.

She is survived by her children, Michael Zona and Brianne (Kevin) Hoyt; grandchildren, Serena Zona, Julia Zona, Natalie Hoyt, and Carter Hoyt; her loving companion of over 35 years, Michael Sloan and his children, Michelle (John) Marcello and Michael Sloan; grandchildren, Chase Sloan, Nicholas (Krystal) Marcello, Macie Marcello, and Audrey Hoyt; great-grandson, Nico Marcello; nieces, nephews and dear friend, Mary.

Diane dedicated more than 40 years of compassionate service as a Special Care Nursery nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital and Unity Hospital, where she cared for countless newborns during life’s earliest moments. Outside of her work, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved deeply. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved cat, Mike, and her grand-dog, Leia.

Private services will be held in Watkins Glen at a later date.
