Rochester, NY: Devoted husband and father passed away June 20, 2011 at St. John's Nursing Home. Born March 24, 1926 in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary Vitale. Don was the oldest of 3 children. His sister "Tessy" passed away in 1975.
On September 4, 1950, he married Marie Saverino, who survives. He is also survived by his son, Steven D. Vitale; brother, Ralph Vitale; sister-in-law, Amy Vitale; brother-in-law, Frank Saverino; many nieces, Mary Kay Fantuzzo, Elizabeth Saverino, Kathy Sherman, Toni Glasbergen, Donna Vitale and Mary Terry.
Don was the Vice President of Hamill Associates; for decades, a dedicated and active member of Penfield-Perinton Kiwanis; and an avid golfer.
Family will receive friends Sunday 1-4 PM and 6-8 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 10 AM at Peace of Christ Parish, St. Ambrose Church, 25 Empire Blvd. Entombment, White Haven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please make donation to the University of Rochester's Forget-Me-Not Fund, AD-CARE, Monroe Community Hospital, 435 East Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620.
