Donald James Legacy
Donald James Legacy, 84, of Wellsville, N.Y., passed away on May 19, 2013. Donald was born in Fredericksburg, Va., on Sept. 12, 1928. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he earned a Masters of Science in metallurgical engineering.
Donald worked at Worthington Turbine from 1971-1975. After a number of years doing contract work in California, Michigan and Minnesota, he returned to Wellsville and worked at Dresser-Rand until retiring in 1996.
He was an avid jogger whose interests included, woodworking, baking, and investing. He was a longtime member of the Christian Temple and the Genesee Valley Chorus.
Donald is survived by his sister, Jean Bowie, and children, James Legacy (Penny), Genevieve Legacy (Mike Roberts), Helen Legacy, Catherine Legacy (Luc de Ruysscher) and grandchildren, Nyima, Hannah, Nicolas, Eli, Jack, Shelby and Willem.
An informal memorial "Coffee Hour" will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. at the Christian Temple, 99 Maple Avenue, Wellsville, N.Y.
