Sturgis, Donald "Fred"
Chili: May 17, 2011 at age 76. Predeceased by brother, Robert. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean; children, Michael (Jackie), Daniel (Patty), Richard and Dianne (Gene) Bernardo; step-children, Gary Jr., Christopher, Wendy, Meredith and Janet; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, William (Noreen) Sturgis; many nieces and nephews and many friends. Donald was a retiree of Eastman Kodak with 32 years of service and an employee of Harris Seed Company for over 10 years. He managed the softball team Jerry Earl Enterprises (1959-1975). He was active in the American Legion for over 40 years. He helped with the Okinawa Reunion and the Charlotte Picnic Club. A special thanks to the staff at Hildebrandt Hospice and Journey Home for their caring of Donald.
Family will receive friends 12-3 Saturday at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue followed by his Service at 3 PM with military honors. Contributions may be made to Journey Home. To share a memory, please visit:
