Donna J. Romashko (Belknap), 69, of Hilton, NY, passed away on June 5, 2025, surrounded by loving family.
Donna was born on August 2, 1955, in Rochester, NY, to Earl J. Belknap and Charlotte J. McGovern. She was the devoted wife of Ronald J. Romashko.
Donna graduated from Nazareth High School in 1975. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald, on October 26, 1974, in Bergen, NY. They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary surrounded by family and friends. While raising their three daughters, Donna worked part-time in bakeries and at a bank, all while being deeply involved in her children's lives—attending every dance recital, soccer game, and softball practice. She served on the PTA, volunteered in their classrooms, and was both their Girl Scout troop leader and the area's cookie manager.
When her two oldest daughters were both in college, Donna decided it was her turn to pursue higher education. She earned an Associate’s Degree from Monroe Community College in 2002 and later spent 10 years working at Hillside Children’s Center.
Traveling was a huge part of Donna’s life, and she and Ron were always off on their next adventure. They lovingly called their travels “Ron and Donna’s Adventures”. Whether they were exploring Ireland, Switzerland, Alaska, or Mexico, or just enjoying time at Holden Beach, those trips were some of the happiest moments of their lives. But what truly brought Donna the most joy was spending time with her six grandchildren—Ella, Anna, Lily, Ethan, Miles, and Wesley. From sleepovers and pancake breakfasts to the Sunday family dinners she hosted nearly every week, those moments were everything to her. In the summertime, you could bet she was watching the hummingbirds visit her feeders—whether through her kitchen window or from the deck—a little moment of peace that always made her smile.
Donna married her best friend. Few are lucky enough to have a love like theirs. Family and traditions were everything to them.
Donna is survived by her loving husband, Ronald; daughters, Michele (Joseph) Silivestro, Jennifer (Timothy) Macomber, and Sarah (Justin) Bevan; and her beloved grandchildren, Ella and Anna Silivestro, Lily and Ethan Macomber, and Miles and Wesley Bevan. She is also survived by her siblings: Lucinda (Thomas) Dole, Richard Belknap, David Belknap (best friend Linda Zuhlke), and Bruce (Evelyn Castello) Belknap, along with many cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, Earl J. Belknap and Charlotte J. McGovern.
Donna will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, Mima, aunt and friend.
