Passed away on March 5, 2026 at the age of 78.
Predeceased by her husband, Luther Hymes Jr.; sisters, Janice Van Vorst, Joyce (Tom) Pfleegor, Nancy (Richard) Baush; brother-in-law, Ronald LaPlant; parents, Henry and Rose Van Vorst.
She is survived by her son, Jason (Maria Torres) VanVorst; grandchild, John (Candice) Schmidt; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Kai; siblings, Anita (Jim) Gardener, Ellie LaPlant, and Henry (Mary Lou) Van Vorst; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11th, from 11-12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue.
A graveside service will follow at Falls Cemetery (Ridge Road Cemetery), corner of Ridge Rd. & Latona Rd.
