Doris W. Schneible

January 16, 1924 — May 29, 2015

Doris Evelyn Walsh Schneible

Rochester: May 29th , 2015 at the age of 91.

Doris was born in Syracuse NY on January 16, 1924 to her parents Thomas and Florence (Crane) Walsh. Doris grew up on Tipperary Hill in Syracuse. Upon graduation from Central High School she attended Powelson Business Institute and graduated with a secretarial degree. Doris worked as an executive secretary for Carrier Corporation. Also during her young life she and her friends had many adventures. Most noteworthy was the attainment of her pilot's license. She thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of flying and the comradery of her fellow airmen. She said she never turned down an opportunity to fly.

On July 23, 1955 Doris married James E. Schneible. She moved to Red Creek with Jim where he was employed as a teacher. Together they raised four children, Carol S. Palmer, Peter J. Schneible (Amy B. Spitzer), Paul J. Schneible and Thomas J. Schneible. In addition to all the things a mother of four does, Doris spent untold numbers of hours in the stands of various sporting events cheering for her children. As her children grew up Doris returned to work as the principal's secretary in the elementary school. In her spare time she enjoyed playing golf. Doris also volunteered at the local library.

Doris is predeceased by her husband Jim, her parents, brother David, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wally and Ella Macallair, and son-in-law Rick Palmer. In addition to her children and daughter-in-law, Doris is survived by her beloved granddaughters, Cady, Madeline, Hannah, Linsey, and Erika. Doris will be remembered and admired for her devotion to her family, her sweetness, and her quiet strength. She will be greatly missed.
