Dorothy was a devoted and loving mother, and grandmother: a true matriarch in every sense of the word.
She and her husband Charles were blessed with 75 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed bowling, square dancing, snowmobiling, and camping, even making a cross-country trip in 1969. In their retirement years, they wintered in Florida where they became avid shuffleboard players. Dorothy served as the Treasurer for their trailer park's shuffleboard club. Dorothy graduated from Charlotte High School where she also played on the basketball team. For many years, she taught Sunday School at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Dorothy was a talented artist and created many treasured, acrylic paintings for her family and friends. Dorothy enjoyed music, especially old hymns, frequently playing them on the organ. She also was an avid knitter and enjoyed crocheting.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 5-8 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave., where her Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 10 AM. Interment, Falls Cemetery.
