Dunya Katrice Johnson, born October 1, 1965 in Rochester, New York to the late Edward Stanislaus and Vivian Cook Johnson. The eldest of four children, Dunya was educated at St. Agnes High School and graduated from James E. Sperry High School in Henrietta New York. She attended SUNY College of Geneseo, where she studied Liberal Arts.
Dunya was a self-taught technological wizard who could manipulate the internet like a pro. She often reserved flights and was very skilled at finding the best prices for the most expensive items. Dunya was a rare soul who loved interacting with people from all walks of life. She was passionate about planning and attending family gatherings and her culinary skills were superb. Dunya could make file' gumbo like she was trained by the great Emeril Lagasse himself.
She had a special bond with each one of her nieces and nephews. She often talked to others about their accomplishments, and just how proud she was of who they were becoming.
From her enduring spirit to her contagious smile, Dunya touched many lives in the short time she had on this earth. Dunya was agile and would often go dancing with her cousins. Some of her favorite past times were shopping, reading, and searching for treasures. While shopping, her chosen motto was "Free or less!"
Dunya is predeceased in death by her father Edward Stanislaus Johnson, and survived by her mother Vivian A. Cook-Johnson whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her two sisters: D'Onnarae Johnson (Rodney Johnson) and Deborah Johnson, Olatha Kansas, three brothers: Ronald E. Johnson, Daryl L. Johnson and Derrick Johnson; adopted sister Teri L. Prioetti and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
