Rochester Died suddenly at the age of 31 on June 25.

He is survived by his parents Brian and Helene (Shrout) Sallerson, brother Dylan (Manni Aquilina), and his cousin Kyle DeFranco who he loved like a brother. His large family included many aunts and uncles: Harry Lee and Linda Shrout, Sandy Shrout, Frank Shrout (Maria), Richie Shrout and Andy Andrzejewski, Mike Shrout (Brenda), Robin Shrout, Kim Shrout, Steven (Angela) Sallerson of Maui, Cindy Sallerson (Mark Alvut) of Buffalo, Matt (Sharon) Sallerson, Scott Sallerson, David (Deb) Sallerson of Atlanta, GA.
He also leaves many cousins and good friends.
Dustin loved his little nieces and nephews and was especially tight with his family. Family gatherings were a special highlight in his life.
He loved gardening with his Mom. His brother was an important role model for him, especially when it came to fashion because he hated shopping.
He had a smile that lit up a room and his friends will always remember his sarcastic sense of humor.
A graduate of West Irondequoit High School and University at Buffalo, Dustin worked as a coach for the West Irondequoit track and field team. In high school, he was a tremendous athlete, winning major awards for his football and triple jump in track and field. Dustin loved fast cars, video games and was curious about the earth, animals and every aspect of The Discovery Channel.
He was a wealth of trivia. He was a champion of the underdog; whether it was a child in pain, a lost pet, or a neighbor in need of a friend. His compassion and love for others was evident in countless ways. He loved his dog Raleigh. He loved the Buffalo Bills and the comradery it brought for family and friends.
Dustin struggled with depression and anxiety. He was led down a treacherous path by endless doctors who didn't coordinate his treatments, despite prescribing endless drugs.
After years, he simply got lost in the system. He was never able to set himself on a different, happier path even with the support, love and everlasting hope of his family.
Family will receive friends on Friday from 10 till 12 at New Comer Funeral Home 2636 Ridgeway Avenue followed by a service beginning at noon.
Internment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery immediately after the service.
