Earl R. Russell, born on May 11, 1942, in Tupper Lake, New York, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, in Rochester. He was 84 years old.
Earl’s life was marked by a steadfast devotion to family, coupled with an enduring sense of responsibility and quiet strength. Raised in Tupper Lake by his parents, Harold Russell and Pearl Eggeston Russell, Earl laid the foundation for a legacy characterized by loyalty, perseverance, and generosity.
Earl is survived by a large and loving family. Among them are his sons, Michael Russell and Daniel Russell; daughters Peggy Loving, Brenda, Suzanne Kenny, and Tammy Russell; sons-in-law Buck Loving, Dale, and Brian Kenny; daughter-in-law Darleen Russell; 18 Grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren along with his sister, Janis Werner. Earl’s connection to each family member was deeply personal and unique, reflecting his capacity for unconditional love and guidance. He is also survived by his loving dog Precious of 14 years.
He is predeceased by his beloved parents, Harold and Pearl, as well as four brothers and one sister, whose memories remained close to Earl’s heart throughout his life.
Throughout his many years, Earl cultivated meaningful relationships and played many roles, each defined by dignity and a profound sense of duty. He was a source of wisdom and encouragement—a foundation upon which multiple generations built their lives. Earl’s influence stretched beyond his immediate family, uplifting all who knew him.
His passing leaves an immeasurable void, yet his legacy persists in the values he instilled: integrity, resilience, and the importance of togetherness. Earl R. Russell will be dearly missed and long remembered by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
