Edna A. Foster

Edna A. Foster gained her wings on 6/10/2025, in her home surrounded by family and friends. Edna was born on February 14, 1948, to the late Julius and Ollie Gause (Johnson). She was born in Bucksport, South Carolina. She relocated to Rochester, NY at a young age. She was predeceased in death by her husband Joseph C. Foster. Edna is the last of eight siblings. She was predeceased by her brothers Robert Gause III, Harry R., Gause, and Julius Gause Jr. Her sisters Annie Ruth McCray, Teresa Washington, Elmira Williams, and Nellie L. Gause (Robinson). 

Edna dedicated all her working career to helping others. She worked at Rosetta Foods, Old Lady Mercy, Strong Memorial Hospital, and various other jobs. Edna was a woman who loved to serve and praise the lord. She was a member of the New Life Worship and Praise Center Inc. She enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was a woman of faith and a true inspiration to her family. 

Edna had a beautiful soul, she spent her life caring for others, sharing kindness, and pouring love into everyone she met. Her heart was her greatest gift, and her legacy of compassion will live on forever. 

She leaves to cherish her son James Gause. Her daughter Alansonette Foster and Joedna S. Foster. Her grandchildren Prince Paul McFadden, Darryl and Tatiana Washington, Jasmine Gause, Jerreim, Jaiquell, and Jeramhi Madison. Her great grandchildren Ke’liana, Leilani, and Amari Gurgel, and Jayvion Madison. Her brother-n-law Alonzo Foster. Her stepchildren Joe, Austin, Phillip, Brian, and Jimmy Foster. A host of step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Edna’s love and guidance will forever be remembered by her family.
