Our beautiful mother passed away peacefully a month shy of her 101st birthday. She is now in Heaven with her husband and our father, Bob Walsh.
Betty is survived by her loving children: Brian (Mary) Walsh, Mary Boatfield (the late Dennis Boatfield), Patrice (Frank) Rinere, Bill Walsh and Kelly Cullen-Walsh. Her precious grandchildren: Jillian (Carlo), Brian Michael, Katie (Jimmy), Chris (Eugene), Bobby, Danny, Mark (Jordan), Mike (Ryan), Jenna, Chelsea (Adam), Ian (Reena), and Shelby. Her loving great-grandchildren: Gio, Remi, Aria, Libby, Dawson, Jack, Aubrey Fei and two more on the way. She is also survived by her nieces, Suzanne Northrup and Laurie (Tom Wildey).
Betty was a proud veteran, serving in the Navy WAVES for two years during WWII. She was a parishioner at St. Kateri (St. Margaret Mary) parish for 70 years. She was also a Kodak employee for 7 years.
Betty is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Bob Walsh, her son-in-law Dennis Boatfield, mother, Brigetta Reetz, sister, Hilda Tipple, brother, Rev. Harold Reusch, and niece, Karen Tipple.
Over the years, our mother loved hosting weekly Sunday family dinners and whipping up the best potato salad for summer cookouts. She enjoyed her last few months living at The Landing of Brighton where she made many friends. She also was adored by her friends at Sunday mass. We will miss our beautiful mother but are blessed to have had so many years with her.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Constantino for taking good care of Betty.
We will celebrate Betty’s life at 10am on Wednesday, March 4 (which would’ve been her Her 101st birthday) with a mass at St. Kateri parish (St. Margaret Mary) on Roger’s Parkway in Irondequoit.
No calling hours and private burial.
Donations in Betty’s memory can be made to The Golisano Autism Center- 50 Science Parkway, Rochester, NY 14620.
