It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Roque, age 71, on December 8, 2025. Born in the Bronx, New York, Elizabeth moved to Rochester at the age of 17, where she built a life filled with love, generosity, and unwavering faith.
Elizabeth devoted her life to caring for others, working in the healthcare field with a passion that touched countless lives. Her compassion, support, and gentle presence made her a source of comfort to anyone who needed it. She believed deeply in giving—of her time, her heart, and her strength—and she lived those values every single day.
Above all, Elizabeth loved her daughter, Yolanda Ayala, who was her pride, her joy, and the center of her world. Their bond was one of profound love, laughter, and partnership—an unbreakable connection that brought warmth to both of their lives.
Elizabeth cherished her family, including her siblings Noemi Osbourne and Ruth Pacheco. She also adored her many pets through the years, finding joy and companionship in each of them.
Her loves were simple but full of life: music that lifted her spirit, the joy of dancing and singing, holidays shared with the people she cared for, outings to her favorite restaurants, and the delight of shopping for the little things that made others smile. Her faith in God was a guiding force in her life, inspiring her compassion and her commitment to helping those in need. Giving to charity and supporting the helpless were not just actions for her—they were part of who she was.
Elizabeth’s warmth, humor, and boundless love will be missed forever. Her memory will continue to comfort those who knew her, and her legacy of kindness will live on in every life she touched.
Predeceased by her parents, Rafael and Gloria Pacheco.
Survived by her loving daughter, Yolanda Zanita Ayala. Sisters, Noemi (Charlton) Osbourne, Ruth Pacheco. Former husband, Ernesto (Norma) Ayala. Many nieces, nephews and family members.
