Eric Malcolm Hooker

Fairport-Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at the age 85, Eric Hooker's time ran out.

Born in Cuba, NY he grew up first in Angelica, NY and then in Friendship, NY. He studied photography in NY City then returned home to take over his father's painting, wall papering and small contracting business. He moved to Rochester, NY and became a member of Local 86 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 32 years. He managed Midvale Electric before retiring and then turned his hobby of clock restoration and repair into his second career as Eric's Clocks. Here he became curator of the Hoffman Clock Museum in Newark, NY, President of Chapter 13 of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC), Chairman of the Eastern States Regional of the NAWCC and a teacher of clock repair.

Eric is survived by his wife of 43 years, Doris Jean Hooker; children, Elizabeth Lewis, Thomas Mitchell and Melissa (Timothy) Casselman; 9 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his sister Jeanette (William) Wilde.

There will be no calling hours and interment will be at the wishes of the family.
