Pearlie was a mother of House of Prayer Church. She will be remembered for her good humor, cooking and being a friend. No one ever left her house hungry. She would make hogshead cheese, barbeque sauce, and chitterlings. She was a great listener and counselor to many. She would crochet, making blankets for every baby, often saying "someone was making feet for socks" when a new baby was coming, knowing before anyone else.
Pearlie loved traveling and fishing but always was well dressed. She owned her own clothing shop, Pearl's Dress & Variety Shop, and ran her own family restaurant.
She was always a fighter even in her last days.
Calling hours will be Monday January 13, 6pm-9pm at Pilgrim Pentecostal Church, 63 Dr. Samuel McCree Way. Service will be Tuesday January 14, at 11am, with a burial following at Oakwood Cemetery.
