Florence Edna Huff of Spencerport NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family November 14, 2024.
Florence was born on August 8th, 1941 in Rochester NY to Elton and Edna Mosher. She grew up in Ontario, NY “On The Lake” with her parents and four siblings.
After careers with Kodak and Park Ridge Hospital, she retired and moved into an “in-law” apartment in her daughter’s home in Spencerport for the remainder of her life. She dedicated her life to her family, helping to raise her three beautiful Grandchildren. She loved and was a gifted cook and baker in which we all benefited from. She loved her family fiercely. She loved God with all of her heart.
Flo’s ability to remain unequivocally “herself”, through most anything and everything, was uncanny. Whether she was telling you a story, speaking about God, telling a joke, explaining in detail a movie she admired (most likely while you were watching it with her!), generally chatting, or (God bless you) -politics! Florence always told it in her own “to the point”, spicy, excited way, that was sure to bring a smile or laugh your way.
The small “Disney World Animal Sanctuary” she created over the last year, with her squirrels she hand-fed, chipmunks, birds, rabbits, turkey, fox, and deer, will surely be aware of her absence.
Her words of wisdom, compassion and her unconditional love will be sorely missed, and her absence felt deeply. The memories she has left us with are the only solace to her absence here on earth, in addition to knowing she is now in the arms of our heavenly Father, with no more pain or suffering and in the company of those loved ones who have gone before us.
Florence is pre-deceased by her parents: Elton and Edna Mosher, sisters: Beverly Doell and Joanne Peets, son: Richard L Huff and grandson: Richard A Jackson
She is survived by her daughter: Lorrie (Huff) Jackson (Gino Sardellitti), son: John (Jean) Kleisle, granddaughters: Jessica Jackson (Cameron Sformo), Jillian Jackson, sister: Maryanne (Al) Leach, brother: Elton Mosher. Previous spouse and longtime friends Lawrence (Pamela) Huff.
Her very good friend Christine Fields who became more like a daughter, especially in supporting us through these past difficult months.
A very special thanks to Rochester Regional Hospice, in-specific Cassi Sullivan, Joelle Davis, Kathy Distefano, all whom became an intricate part of Flo’s care over the past 8 months and who are all an outstanding credit to their professions and proved invaluable to her and her family.
