Florence J. Gaelens

April 28, 1930 — August 22, 2016

Rochester: Beautiful and so very well loved, passed away Monday, August 22, 2016 at age 86. Predeceased by husband, Hilaire; son, Randy; siblings, Adam, Walter, Jenny, Joe, Vernie, Edward, and Stanley.

She is survived by her son, Roger (Carol) Gaelens; daughter, Lori-Ann Gaelens Kwasneski; grandchildren, Bianca, Timothy, Jessica; Vicki and Jerry; brother-in-law, Rev. Albert Gaelens and sister-in-law, Anna Kaminski; nieces and nephews.

Florence is a past member of the Polish Heritage Society and Red Hat Society. As a woman of many interests and talents, she was an avid photographer whose photos were displayed at the Memorial Art Gallery. She was also an excellent cook, a biology teacher and loved to dance, especially the Polka. Holidays and family gatherings were always special to her. She enjoyed summers at the family cottage together with her family where they went fishing and boating.

Her family cherished her witty humor and will remember her most of all as a loving, caring and devoted Mom.

Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Monday, August 29th at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. followed by a Service at 7 PM. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
