F. Raymond Gibb

Floyd Raymond Gibb, born September 6,1930, in Newburgh, NY, passed away on August 26, 2026. He was surrounded by family he loved and who also loved him.

Ray was multi-talented and lived an incredible life. In the 1950’s he served in the US Army in Korea, later graduating from SUNY Albany where he met his first wife Anita Racine Gibb. Although certified to teach, Ray went on to have a long career as a research Radiation Biologist at the University of Rochester.

A lover of animals and cookies, it was his character and charm that made him so universally loved. He will always be missed, always be fondly remembered.

Ray is survived by his two children from his first marriage to Anita Racine Gibb: Andrea and David Gibb. Ray is also survived by his step-children from his second marriage to Marece Story Gibb: Judy Arena, Tom Story, and Carol Graham. Ray is also survived by his third wife, Judy Von Holton Gibb and her children: Karl Von Holton and Caroline Saylor.

He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Elan, Olivia, Erica, Addison, Tyler, Avery, Ethan, Ron, Dominic, Joe, Stephanie, Gwen,Vicky, Katrina, Andrew, and Amanda who all admired him greatly.

The family will receive friends at Ray's Memorial Service, 1pm Friday September 4, 2026 at The First Baptist Church of Penfield, 1862 Penfield Rd, Penfield, NY 14526. 

On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, friends are invited to Irondequoit Cemetery, 3671 Culver Rd. Rochester,NY 14622 for Ray’s graveside service at 11am.  The cemetery is north of Titus Ave.
