Frances Caperna

Franceschina “Frances” Caperna (Pisegna), age 93, of Rochester, NY, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at her home.

Frances was born on March 12, 1932, in Collelongo, Italy, to Costanza and Cesare Pisegna. In 1965, she and her beloved husband, Umberto, immigrated to the United States with their two young daughters in search of a better life. Frances was a dedicated seamstress for Hickey-Freeman, where her strong work ethic and skill were evident throughout her many years of employment.

Above all else, Frances found her greatest joy in her family and her garden. She poured her love into caring for those around her, and her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and togetherness.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Umberto; her parents; and her siblings.

Frances is survived by her loving daughters, Maria Caperna and Nadia Caperna-Santos (Jose); her cherished grandchildren, Umberto Santos (Myra Juntunen), Angelica Santos (Jackie), and Gabriell Brade (Bruce); and her adored great-grandchildren, Chloe, Marcolina, Peter, Bruce Valentino, Isaiah, and Luciana. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Frances will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her quiet strength, and the warmth and kindness she shared with everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude and special thanks to Dr. Carlos Swanger and the compassionate staff at URMC Home Hospice Care for their exceptional care, kindness, and support during this difficult time.

On Saturday morning, friends may assemble at the Dewey Ave. gate of Holy Sepulchre Cemetery at 9:45am. for her Entombment and Funeral Service in All Saints Mausoleum at 10am.

Franceschina "Frances" Caperna (Pisegna), di 93 anni, di Rochester, NY, è venuta a mancare serenamente il 19 gennaio 2026, circondata dall'affetto dei suoi cari nella sua casa.

Frances era nata il 12 marzo 1932 a Collelongo, in Italia, da Costanza e Cesare Pisegna. Nel 1965, insieme al suo amato marito Umberto, emigrò negli Stati Uniti con le loro due giovani figlie in cerca di una vita migliore. Frances era una sarta dedita al suo lavoro presso la Hickey-Freeman, dove la sua forte etica del lavoro e la sua abilità erano evidenti durante i suoi molti anni di servizio.

Soprattutto, Frances trovava la sua più grande gioia nella famiglia e nel suo giardino. Dedicava il suo amore alla cura di coloro che le stavano intorno e la sua casa era un luogo di calore, conforto e unione.

È stata preceduta nella morte dal suo amato marito Umberto, dai suoi genitori e dai suoi fratelli.

Frances lascia le sue amate figlie, Maria Caperna e Nadia Caperna-Santos (Jose); i suoi adorati nipoti, Umberto Santos (Myra Juntunen), Angelica Santos (Jackie) e Gabriell Brade (Bruce); e i suoi amati pronipoti, Chloe, Marcolina, Peter, Bruce Valentino, Isaiah e Luciana. È ricordata con affetto anche dai suoi numerosi nipoti e cugini.

Frances sarà ricordata per il suo incrollabile amore per la famiglia, la sua tranquilla forza e il calore e la gentilezza che ha condiviso con tutti coloro che hanno avuto il privilegio di conoscerla.

La famiglia desidera esprimere la propria sincera gratitudine e un ringraziamento speciale al Dott. Carlos Swanger e al compassionevole personale dell'URMC Home Hospice Care per le loro eccezionali cure, gentilezza e supporto in questo momento difficile.

Sabato mattina, gli amici potranno riunirsi al cancello di Dewey Ave. del Cimitero di Holy Sepulchre alle ore 9:45 per la cerimonia di tumulazione e il servizio funebre nel Mausoleo di Tutti i Santi alle ore 10:00.
