Rochester: November 5, 2012 at age 88 surrounded by his loving
family. He is predeceased by his parents, Harland & Dorothy
(Grant) Simmons; and son, John Simmons. Survived by his loving
wife of 61 years, Mary Ruth (Menz); son, William (Berni) Simmons; daughters,
Mary Ann (Fred) Atzrott, Ann Marie (Jim) Johnston and Gloria
(Scott) Gerken; grandchildren, Christopher (Lena), Jennifer, Adrienne
(Eric), Christine (Jeff), John II (Sarah), Nicole, Kimmy, Allison,
Justin, Jonathan, Sarah and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Elijah and
Alex; sister, Lona Vanlare; brother, Arthur Simmons; numerous nieces
and nephews.
Friends and family may call Thursday November 8, 2012, 6-8
PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. His Funeral Mass
will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am at Peace of Christ Parish at
St. Ambrose. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to the National Military Family Association,
