Gail R. Jones, a dedicated Teacher Aide with the Rochester City School District, embarked on her eternal journey on January 15, 2026, at Rochester General Hospital. Born on December 2, 1944, in Edenton, North Carolina, Gail touched the lives of many throughout her 81 years.
As a loving mother and grandmother, her pride shone brightest in her family. She is survived by her sons, James Skeeter (Audrey James), Ricky Jones (Iavetta Strickland-Jones), Jeffery Jones, Benjamin Jones (Liane DeMarco), Timothy Jones, and Christopher Jones; her daughter, Kathy Jones; and her daughter, Gale Jones-Lane (Joe). Gail's heart was as immense as her many talents. She loved a good book and enjoyed music, often losing herself in the rhythms that touched her soul. Whether she was playing cards or whipping up a delightful meal, her home was always filled with warmth and laughter. Her faith shone brightly through her love of attending church, where she found community and connection.
Her proudest accomplishment was taking care of her family. Gail devoted herself to nurturing her loved ones, ensuring that they felt cherished and supported throughout their lives. She leaves an indelible mark on their hearts, a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion that will resonate for generations.
Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Skeeter and Elnora Perry, along with seven sisters and one brother, who will welcome her with open arms in the next life.
