Garson "Freddie" Hamilton was born in Clarendon, Jamaica, on December 19, 1938. He was raised and educated there. He left Jamaica and came to the US where he worked as a tailor and a barber before taking a job driving taxi for Associate Taxi Service where he worked for eight years. After leaving Associate Taxi Service, he worked at Rochester Products Division until he retired in 2002. He was a very hard worker and took pride in whatever he did.
After retiring Freddie let not a single moment go to waste. He embraced every day by staying busy doing the things he loved.
Freddie was an avid fisherman. He would always look forward to his annual deep sea fishing trip to Boston which usually took place in late May. Along with fishing, he also enjoyed working in his garden. He would spend hours tending to his exotic plants and flowers as well as fruits and vegetables.
Every weekend he drove to Albion, NY to visit his best friend's farm where he collected fresh fruits and vegetables which he shared with family, friends and neighbors.
He passed peacefully on May 10th at the age of 77.
He is predeceased by his Mother Florence Fearon Nicholson and Father Laird Hamilton.
"Freddie" leaves to cherish many fond and loving memories his eight children Joycent (Stafford), Marjorie, Freddie Jr. (Melissa),Patrick, Kimberly, Keith, Sonia (Edwin) and Shari. 2 adopted sons Shawn and Keith (Sheila) ,16 Grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers Clinton , Keith , Christopher Nicholson and Newsome Nicholson, four sisters Daisy (Jeremiah) ,Uelma , Doreen (Ruppert) , and Evadney .
