His memorial service will be held Thursday, January 28th at 1 pm
First Bible Baptist Church 990 Manitou Rd, Hilton NY 14468
Survived by wife Aileen.

Daughter Deborah (Walt), Grandchildren: Walter and Katie (Mike).
Son Jonathan (Nadine), Grandchildren: Richard, Natalie (Kevin), Austin and Spencer.

Geoff was born in Isleworth England, a suburb of London, where he lived during World War 2. As a boy he would stuff grass in the tires of his bike so he could get around. He was responsible for feeding and caring for a goose that later would become dinner!

At age 17 Geoff joined the Royal Navy for 7 1/2 years 1947-1954 He was trained to disarm torpedoes and mines. He also had anti submarine training. From 1950 - 1953 he took part in the Korean war on HMS Belfast.

In 1961 he attended "All Nations Bible College." From there he served on the mission field in Northern Argentina, with the South American Missionary Society. Geoff's responsibilities were to take care of the Mission store which served Mataco Indians and Argentinians, maintain the mission property and vehicles. He also worked with the Mataco Indians teaching them skills like carpentry, how to build houses, how to fix vehicles etc.

In 1964 Geoff and Aileen where married at the mission. They left the mission field after 4 years, 3 months after their daughter Deborah was born, moving back to England. Later that same year Geoff was hired as a tool maker by General Electric in America. He moved with his family to Binghamton NY. His son Jonathan was born in 1968.

In 1975 Geoff was hired by Kodak and moved to Rochester where he worked until he retired in 1991.

In 1986 Geoff and Aileen opened "Smith's Country Cottage African Violets." Geoff loved hybridizing African Violets and produced some beautiful new varieties. They enjoyed this until they closed there doors in February 2012.
