George was born in Perry, GA on August 10, 1925 to James Grace and Anna Gorman. He was #16 of 17 siblings.
He married Sarah, in Florida in 1943. In the 1950's they lived in Syracuse, New York where they raised two daughters Alma and Christine.
His gift of caring for family and friends was greatly appreciated by all who were touched by his unselfish love.
He was a Truck Driver since the age of 19. He worked 47 years before he retired. George was a kind hearted and loving man.
He began studying with Jehovah's Witnesses at a young age. He enjoyed traveling and most important encouraging people to learn about Jehovah and Jesus Christ.
George and Sarah served as publishers of the Central and Greece congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years. Currently the Portland Congregation is where they served.
On August 26, 2016 at the age of 91. Predeceased by his wife Sarah of 73 years, & daughter, Alma Odum. He is survived by his daughter, Christine Grace; grandchildren, Dwight & Derek Odum, Tishara Wilson, Evelyn Boykin, Aaron Odum, Eugena Love, Cynthia (Michael) Dennis, Kishan, Kevin, & Tomika Wilson; a host of great and great-great-grandchildren; 5 siblings; sister-in-law, Bernice Mahar; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
George's Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 510 Helendale Rd., Rochester, NY 14609.
