George D. Kleisley Jr.

Passed away on September 26, 2025 at the age of 78.

Predeceased by his parents, George (Arline) Kleisley Sr.; sister, Judith Crego;& his uncle who was like a brother, Alan Saxe.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joanne Kleisley; daugters, Elizabeth (Theodore) Smith & Sarah (Zachary) Yaeger; grandson, Gunnar; beloved sister, Carol Salphine; nieces and nephews, Kenny, Kimmy, Tina, Melissa, Donald, & Daniel; his beloved dog, Gotti.

George was the life of the party-funny, outgoing, and quick to make friends wherever he went. He loved fishing and hunting, and he was happiest cooking for others and gathering with family and friends. A proud family man, he lived with an open heart, always ready to give the shirt off his back even to someone he had just met.

His generosity extended far beyond his family and friends. George dedicated his life to service through organizations such as the Sisters of Saint Joseph, the American Legion, and the Monroe County Honor Guard. He was a proud Past Commander of Greece Post 468 and Past Monroe County Vice Commander, where he built lifelong bonds and served his community with honor.

Faith was at the center of George's life. He had a deep connection with God and lived each day guided by his beliefs, striving to live selflessly and with purpose.

George was loved deeply by his wife of 41 years, his daughters, his son-in-laws, his grandson, and his extended family and countless friends. His love for them was unwavering, and his greatest joy was found in their happiness.

George's humor, kindness, and dedication to both his family and his community will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.

A Funeral Service will be held at 9:30am on Saturday, October 18th, at Holy Apostles Church, 7 Austin St.
