George Sfikas

Greece: November 28, 2012 at age 92. George was reunited with his loving wife of 57 years, Theodora. Survived by devoted son, Deno (Mary); dedicated daughter, Elaine; "Papou" to cherished grandchildren, Despina, Kostandinos, Zoe and Dimitrios; beloved sister, Stella Alland; caring brothers, Nicholas (Kay) and Rev. Daniel (Helen); several nieces and nephews; and many friends. George worked for 36 years at Eastman Kodak as a Pipefitter in the Roll Coating Dept. WW II Veteran. Served in the 9th Air Force Pioneer P-51 Mustang Group and a long time member of the American Legion Hexagon Post. In his early years George was an active member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation and later years a founding member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at St. Bernard's Park Place, St. John's Day Break and the ICU Staff at Unity Hospital for their wonderful support and care.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 2nd 3-6 at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. (a Trisagion will be held at 5). A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM Monday, December 3rd at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit, 835 South Ave., Rochester,NY 14620. Interment Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to the Church in his memory.
