Georgiana "Sissi" Marie Sutton, a beloved wife, mother, and cherished member of her family and community, passed away peacefully at her home on May 25, 2026. Born on May 23, 1954, in Rochester, New York, Sissi lived a life marked by love, selflessness, and a keen sense of humor that endeared her to all who knew her.
From her earliest days, Sissi demonstrated a spirit of kindness and generosity. She met her husband, Richard "Rick" Sutton, when she was just 16 and he was 18, beginning a lifelong partnership as childhood sweethearts. Their 44 years of marriage were a testament to their deep bond and unwavering devotion to one another. As a loving wife and mother, Sissi was always putting the needs of others before her own, exemplifying true selflessness. She took joy in many simple pleasures, including, spending time at the casino and in her garden, where her good-natured spirit shone through.
Sissi's family reminisces warmly about her loving nature and the laughter she brought into their lives. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard "Rick" Sutton; her daughter Katelyn (Tim Osgood) and her son Joseph "Joe" Sutton. She is also survived by her brother Rick McWilliams, sister Darlene Bonafide and her husband Frank, sister-in-law Judy Naughton, and her best friend Rita (Jimmy) Trieste. Her affectionate care extended beyond human family to her furry grandchildren, Lola, Oakley, and Dexter, who provided her companionship and joy. Many nieces and nephews carry forward her legacy of warmth and kindness.
Sissi was preceded in death by her dear parents, John and Iva McWilliams, as well as her brother Patrick Naughton, brother Edward Naughton, and sister Mary "Susie" McWilliams. Their memories remain in the hearts of those who loved her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, Christ the King Church, 445 Kings Hwy S, Rochester, NY 14617.
Private Interment.
Sissi’s passing leaves a profound sense of loss but also a lasting imprint of love, humor, and selflessness. She will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who had the honor of knowing her. Her family invites all whose lives were touched by Sissi to join in commemorating her extraordinary life.
