Passed away Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016 at the age of 64 in his home, surrounded by family and friends, following a long battle with heart disease and related illnesses.
He is pre-deceased by mother Elva Wilson; grandmothers Florence Hochreiter and Marion Perkins and Great Aunt Edna Burke.
He leaves his wife and high school sweetheart of 47 years, Marie (Paige) Wilson; his daughter, Terri Beth (Michael) Hilbert, son Gerald R. III (Dana) Wilson of Chicago, grandchildren, Ethan and Nathan, Father Gerald R. Wilson Sr; Sisters Darlene (Ron) Ferris and Carlene Wilson, Brother Thomas (Patti) Wilson.
He also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends, All the Greunke families of Arkport, Hornell, Dansville, Rochester and Kansas; and brother-in-law Earl (Nancy) Paige of Florida.
Jerry was loved by numerous friends and family. He was a tool and die maker by trade, and had a passion for building motorcycles and hot rods in his spare time.
His most cherished times were spent riding ATV's with grandchildren and family members, yearly trips to monster-truck shows, as well as playfully chasing little ones around in his wheelchair. He was a lover of animals.
He is fondly remembered for his outrageous fireworks displays during special family events.
Calling hours will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, N.Y. 14626 on Saturday, February 27th, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A Memorial service will be held following calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lollipop Farm of Egypt, N.Y. or to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, a congregation location of your choice.
