Gertrudis Aponte-Perez

Passed away on, August 19, 2025 at the age of 94.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Telesforo; grandson, Tony Hernandez Jr.; and parents, Ramon Aponte and Juana Perez; and her siblings, Puro Aponte, Jesus "Flaco" Aponte, Mario Aponte, Lucila Aponte-Delvalle, and Lydia Aponte-DeJesus.

She is survived by her sons, Tony Hernandez, David (Myrna) Pagan, and Raul (Gail) Pagan; grandchildren, Danita Pagan, Jose Pagan, Alex Pagan, David Pagan Jr., Nicole Pagan, and Evita Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Gifford, Mileena Pagan, Lincoln Bush, Sophia Pagan, and Kayden Pagan, Sofia Hernandez, and Kneeko Hernandez-Davis; siblings,

Ramon Aponte-Mendoza, Millie Aponte-DeGarcia, Iris Villafanne, Carmen Mery Aponte, Roberto Aponte, Mario Aponte, and Miguel Aponte; and a beloved godmother to many children, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 26, from 11AM to 1PM, with a service to follow, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Boulevard. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Ave. 

The family wants to offer their great gratitude towards the palliative care at Highland Hospital. The team took especially good care of Gertrudis, and made her time there as comfortable as it could be.
