Listen to Obituary

Gregory Lewis Robinson, 69, of Rochester, N.Y formerly of West Point, GA transitioned to his heavenly home on September 5, 2025.

Gregory was born January 4, 1956 in LaGrange, GA to the Late William Howard and the Late Marie Cumberlander Robinson. He attended West Point High School. At the age of 19 on Easter Sunday, he left West Point Georgia and came to Rochester, NY to live with his Father and Step Mother the Late Hattie Robinson. He got a job working at the Red Cross and shortly after left to go to Job Corps, in which he got a trade in brick mason. After Job Corps he came back to Rochester, NY and landed a job at Strong Memorial Hospital in 1980. Mr. Greg later retired in 2007 after serving 27 years in House Keeping.

Greg was well known for his vibrant out going/ spoken spirit, warm and welcoming personality. He was a man of great strength and faith. He was deeply devoted to his family, always making sure, they were okay. Greg was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and enjoyed watching them play. He enjoyed traveling, having his morning hot coffee and taking his daily walks. His journey was one of resilience, growth and service to others.

Brother Greg was also a faithful member of Trinity Emmanuel Presbyterian Church. He was among the very first patrons of the Breakfast Café in 2022. It was there, while sharing food and fellowship, that he discovered the warmth and love he desired in a church family. After prayerful reflection, he made his desire known to become a member under the leadership of Pastor Ernest Krug. From that moment, Brother Greg served faithfully until his health no longer allowed him to be as active as he wished. He was a devoted and enthusiastic member of the church choir, lifting his voice in praise and filling the sanctuary with joy. His positive spirit, loving energy, and willingness to encourage others left a lasting impression on all who worshiped alongside him.

In addition to his parents, Greg is predeceased by his step mother Hattie Robinson, Ex-Wife Theresa Robinson, his brother William Howard Robinson J.R and his sister Patricia Ann Robinson Harrison.

Greg leaves to cherish his memory, his two daughters and 4 grandchildren: Patricia Robinson and child Malik Wilson of Rochester, N.Y; Lisa Robinson and children Robert Robinson, Bryson Robinson, Elise McKnight of Rochester, N.Y. Greg is also survived by his sister Diane Robinson, of Lanett, Al, other relatives and friends.
