Irondequoit: Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at age 90. He is predeceased by his parents, Louis and Rose Mathis; his beloved wife of 61 years, Mildred Mathis; sisters and brothers, Audrey Burns, Marie Prinzing, Mary Alice Brophy, Charlotte Leonard, Dolores Verkest, Louis Mathis, Robert Mathis. He is survived by his son, Scott Mathis; grandchildren, Patrick Mathis, Aubree Still; great-grandchildren, Serena and Brianna Still; sister, Marilyn Marchese; brother, Richard (Rose Marie) Mathis; nieces and nephews. Harold was a Eastman Kodak retiree after 44.4 years (as he put it) at Building 65. He also worked at the Empire Fence Company for more than 20 years along side his son and grandson. He was a also a United States Army Veteran who served his country during WWII. He made so many people laugh and always had a smile. He will be missed by so many people.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 25 from 4-7 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. Harold's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10AM at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish at St. Margaret Mary Church, 401 Rogers Parkway. Interment, private.
