Inez C. Rodwell-Burton

Inez C. Rodwell-Burton passed away in hospice at the age of 85. She was predeceased by her second husband, Charles Burton; her first husband, Henry Rowe Sr.; her sister Angelina Rowe; her brother William Rodwell; her son Michael W. Rowe; and, son Henry Rowe Jr.

She is survived by her children, Michele Dent of Dayton, OH; George A. Rowe of Watervliet, NY; Kasharka Burton of Rochester, NY; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, loved ones, friends and acquaintances.

Inez was a dedicated, hard-working mother and community member. She held various service jobs and completed numerous college-level courses with no degree, to become an executive secretary, ultimately finding work with the Rochester Telephone Corporation, Personnel Department, Employee Benefits Division, from where she retired after more than ten years of service. Outside of her career, she attended church with her and her sister’s family. She enjoyed spending time with and raising children, and travel. She once built a house in the country with her family and raised her children there, near corn fields, horses and cows. On occasion, she enjoyed gardening and watching her children mow the lawn. She attended numerous church conventions with her family in places like Pennsylvania, Niagara Falls, NY, Norfolk, VA and California. She once flew to Europe with family, to visit Air Force family stationed in West Germany.

Inez was a supporter of achievement through education and employment. She supported her son George as he achieved his high school diploma, undergraduate and Masters degree.

Inez will be missed and her memory cherished by all that knew, and loved her.

Family will receive friends 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Friday, May 30, 2025 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Boulevard, where her Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm.
