Irvine L. (Slick) Marshall was born in Madison, Florida on September 10, 1947. He is the third son born to Mr. Walter J. and Mrs. Mattie L. Marshall. He passed away on October 15, 2013. His brother, Glenn, preceded him in death.
Irv attended Madison County Training School in Madison, Florida, #9 School in Rochester, New York and graduated from Franklin High School in 1966. At an early age Irvine joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Madision, Florida. He attended Sunday school and Church with his grandmother regularly.
On November 9, 1966 Irv joined the Army and served for 2 years as a Specialist 4th Class. He was awarded the Military Commendation Medal in recognition of Meritorious Service to the Military Forces of the State of New York. He was honorably discharged on November 4, 1968. Irvine was employed at Eastman Kodak Company as a Plumber/Pipe Fitter for 32 years, he retired in 1998. After retiring from Kodak Irv worked as a driver/trainer for Laidlaw and later First Student. He was a dedicated employee until he became ill.
Irvine was devoted to his family and he made a special impression in the lives of the people he touched. He was an avid motorcyclist and Car Enthusiast. Irvine was a founding member of the Dressers Motorcycle Club and looked forward to the annual trips across country. He was also a member of the Rochester Corvette Club.
In spite of his illness Irv had a tremendous zest for life, he never complained and always had a smile on his face. On September 13, 2013 Irv re-dedicated his life to Christ.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 27 years, Yvonne; 3 sons: Tevin, Hanri (Nicole) and LeVar (Larvina) of Rochester, New York; 2 Daughters: Trai and Tiffany (Edward) of Rochester, New York; 9 grandchildren: Ariana, Andre, Ashley, Alexus, Kory, Irvin B., Irvine M., LeVar Jr. and LeVasia and 1 great-granddaughter: Mi'Liya all of Rochester, New York; Parents: Walter J. Sr. and Mattie L. Marshall of Rochester, New York; 5 brothers: Cliff (Dorothy) Wingate of Rochester, New York; Walter J. Jr. (Gloria) Marshall of Jacksonville, NC; Melvin (Mary) Marshall of Rochester, New York; Juan (Florine) Moore of Rochester, New York and Stanley (Lavern) Marshall of Rochester, New York; 1 sister: Gail (Bruce) Johnson of Rochester, New York; 5 brother-in-laws: Joe (Diane) Bell; Ezra (Ruby) Bell; Kay (Celeste) Bell all of Rochester, New York, Morrell (Barbara) Bell and Dexter Evans of Bainbridge, Georgia; 3 sister-in-laws: Mary (Wayne) Barnes of West Palm Beach; Florida, Pastor John and Joyce Hawkins of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Annette Evans of Rochester, New York; 2 aunts: Essie Mae Mobley of Rochester, New York and Berniece Hall of Madison, Florida; 1 uncle: Joseph Irvine of Greenville, NC. Host of devoted and loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.


Family will receive friends Monday from 6-8PM at the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 250 Dr. Samuel McCree Way, where his Service will be held Tuesday at 11AM.

Interment Westside Cemetery.
