Churchville: Jack entered this world in Ithaca, NY on August 28, 1921 and passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at age 89. As an infant, his parents, Harold H. Clapp and Anna (Alberger) Clapp began making his food in the basement of their home, leading to the first baby food business (CLAPP'S) based in Rochester, NY. Jack entered the Navy to serve in WW II. He was one of the original "Flyboys" chosen from the Rochester Area. Based out of Key West he was a subchaser; he then served in the Reserves for many years flying out of Niagara Falls. Jack's life work was as a Mechanic.

In 1943 he married Catherine L. Kurtz of Wayland, NY. Together they have 7 children. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Catherine Clapp; children, John (Cathy) Clapp, Helen (William) Keough, Suzanne Donald, Elizabeth (David Christie) Clapp, Mary Catherine (Tom Newton) Clapp, Debbie (Eric) Kmentt and Roger Clapp; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
