James A. "Jim" Schneider
Greece: Jim passed away Friday morning, Oct. 9, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Oleksyn; brothers and sisters, Joann (Bill) Huff, Tom (Judy) Schneider, Gerry (Kathy) Schneider and Donna (Dave) Wilson; sister-in-law, Gretchen Schneider; his children, Jamie (Megan) Schneider, Jona (Corey) Wright, Julie (Sean) Goonan; and five grandchildren; aunts, Alice (Bill) Schneider, SR. Jonathan and SR. Serafin; many nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony J. and Arline (Deuter) Schneider; his brother, Danny; and Nancy's daughter, Jodie Oleksyn. He is also survived by his extended family, Robyn Oleksyn and Kerrington, Eris (Mary) Oleksyn and Samantha, Ethan and Tanya (Evan) Wendt; and good friend, Dave Carson.
Jim was in the first graduating class of Bishop Kearney. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, L.U. 86 for over 40 years as a staunch believer of safety on the job, he taught many newcomers OSHA. In retirement, he took great pleasure in serving as President of the Pension Members Club.
The joys in his life were bass fishing, morning coffee/newspaper, bass fishing, hunting camp, long conversations with Nancy and, of course, bass fishing.
Calling hours will be held 3-7 PM Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 AM Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd., Rochester, NY.
