Rochester: Passed peacefully, September 2, 2011 at age 63. Predeceased by sister, Kimberly Goff. He is survived by his loving companion, RoseMarie "Ree" Clausen; sons, Terry (MaryBeth), Keith (Diana); daughter, Amy (Randy) Stoner; grandchildren, Tera (Jason) Jarnot, Jerry and Heather Vanderpool, Lexi and Kobi Blackwell; great-grandson, Anthony Jarnot; step-dad to Ree's children, Kevin and Scott Carpenter, Kathleen Carpenter Castellano, Kim (Adam) Fayko; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline Vanderpool; brothers, Richard (Debbie), Robert Scott "Pete" (Freda), Michael Vanderpool; many nieces & nephews; man's best friend, Mia.

Jim was a Past Commander of VFW Post 307, Past 8th Dist. Commander, Rochester Firefighters Retirees Assoc., 40 & 8, Moose Lodge #2290 and PAC.

Family will receive friends 4-7 PM Friday at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd., followed by a Prayer Service at 7 PM. A Gravedside Service will be held 10 AM Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery (Baird Rd.), Penfield. Donations in Jim's name may be made to Patchen-Briggs VFW Post 307, 933 University Ave., Rochester, NY 14607.
