Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Harriet Perry, and his sister and brother-in-law, Arline (Joe) Razzant and his first wife, Gloria Lusk Perry.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, daughter Debra (Rick) Dixon, sons Joseph (Joann) Perry and James Jr. (Jennifer) Perry, stepdaughter Kelley (Jerry) Stoll; grandchildren Ricky (Irina) Dixon, Ryan (Kirsten) Dixon, lan (Christine) Kuchman, Shelby, Austin and Braden Perry, Joseph Perry, Jack Stoll, and 8 great grandchildren; brother Frank (Dolores) Perry; niece Joanne (Ray) Sanna, many other nieces and nephews, and beloved corgi, Ponyboy Curtis.

Jim lived all his life in Rochester, New York. After graduating from Madison High School, he went on to build a successful drywall business of 30 plus years. His expertise in drywall finishing and ceiling designs were highly regarded in the industry. His creativity and entrepreneurism followed him through life as he developed Ropeworks. USA (innovative rope designs) and later became known for his beautiful paintings which can be found in certain North Greece and Hilton retailers.

His artistic talents extended beyond the canvas. Jim was a popular local performer during the 60s and early 70s. He sang lead and played guitar in a band that he and his brother, Frank, formed called J Men. They performed at various venues in the Rochester area. During his boating years, he shared his musical talent with fellow boaters on the docks of Braddock Bay Marina and was always the life of every party.

Jim and his wife, Shirley, enjoyed renovating homes. They spent many weekends researching trends and designs by visiting model homes and home and garden shows. Because of their effective teamwork they produced several unique and inviting homes that reflected their tastes and passions. After retirement, Jim and Shirley shifted from boating to RVing. They spent winters in Florida and made many friends and memories during their cross-country travels.

Jim's Celebration of Life will be held on his birthday which is Wednesday, July 16th. It will take place at Braddock Bay Park Don Schleiter Lodge from 4 pm - 7 pm. A short memorial service will be held at 5 pm. There will be an open mic for anyone wishing to share memories. Refreshments following. Please dress casually and colorfully!

Donations to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center at 2652 Ridgeway Avenue, Rochester, NY 14626. Arrangements will be made by New Comer Creations and Funerals.
