Janet Rose Cosway

Janet Rose Cosway, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025 at the age of 79. Born on January 5, 1946 in Buffalo, New York to Claude and Rose Johnson, she was a woman of strength, courage and strong work ethic.

Janet Rose Cosway was the heart of her family, a devoted wife to Robert Cosway, and a loving mother to Pamela Van Ness and Brad Cosway. She lived a life dedicated to her family.

Known for her arts and crafts, building projects, boating, travelling and many sports and leisure activities.

She was fun loving and brought joy to all those around her. She was one of a kind.

She is survived by her children, Pamela Rose (Craig) Van Ness, Brad Cosway; her five grandchildren Drake, Luke, Troy and Faith Rose Van Ness and Tessa Rose Cosway. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Rose Johnson, and brothers Cyril Johnson, Laverne Johnson, Stuart Johnson, Russell Johnson, Charlie Johnson.

The family will receive friends 4-6pm Thursday September 11, 2025 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. (west of Long Pond Rd.) On Friday morning at 11 am, friends and family may assemble at The Parish of the Holy Family, 4100 Lyell Rd, Rochester, NY 14606 for her mass of Christian burial. Interment is private.
