Janet Ellen Moore
Greece: Passed away Thursday, October 13, 2011 comfortably with her family by her side. Survived by her son, Dr. Phil (Beth) Wood; daughter, Susan Wood RN; grandson, Timothy (Kristen) Wood.
There will be no prior calling hours. Private Interment will be held at Falls Cemetery (Ridge Road Cemetery). Memorial contributions may be made to Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 S. Winton Road, Rochester, NY in her memory.
Many thanks to Lifetime Care Hospice for all the compassion and eagerness to keep her comfortable in her final days.
Janet was one of the main volunteers under John Zehr, the Administrator of Shorewinds. She was there 2 to 3 days a week working with patients consoling and caring for them in their final days. Recently the Shorewinds Nursing Home and its residents paid tribute to their Veteran's of Foreign Wars. It all started with a wonderful volunteer, Janet Moore and enthusiast residents Maureen McDonald and Marian Springer - together they crocheted the American flag. To show their patriotism, they re-created the original flag with the 13 stars. A celebration was held in the recreation room and was filled with Veterans, including Marine Sergeant Brian Root on leave from Iraq. The flag was encased in glass and hangs in the lobby at the Shorewinds. Everyone was very proud of the people involved in the celebration. To share a special memory, please visit:
