 Jannette “Jan” Washburn Jeffers Ferguson, born June 28, 1929, in DeKalb Junction, New York, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life defined by dedication, independence, and love.

 Jan attended SUNY Potsdam, where she earned her degree in Education. Following graduation, she taught in the Greece, New York public schools for many years, shaping the lives of countless students. During the summer months, she remained active in her community, working as a lifeguard at both public and private swimming areas.

 Jan was married to Robert Jeffers from 1947 to 1958. In 1977, she married Thomas “Tom” Ferguson, with whom she shared over 48 years of life in Greece and Irondequoit, New York. Tom preceded her in death by a short time. She was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Washburn, and her sister, Virginia Grasse.

 Jan is survived by her sons, William Jeffers and Robert Jeffers; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews from both the Washburn and Jeffers families.

 Jannette's burial will take place in late April in Potsdam, NY
