Jason "Jay" Saporito, a beloved son, father, brother and cherished friend, passed away unexpectedly on April 20, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on July 12, 1982, in Rochester, New York, Jay touched the lives of all who knew him with his gentle nature and quiet spirit.
Jay is survived by his daughter Rayana, his loving parents, Patricia (Douglas Cook) Saprorito and James (Deborah DeFord) Saporito. He was a wonderful brother to James (Stacey Murphy) Saporito III, Kelly (Jess Louis) Saporito, Jennifer Zeiner, and Ashley (Jason) Meyer-Zeiner, and shared a special bond with their father, Gerald Zeiner, Jay's fondness for family extended to all corners of his life, including, the mother of his daughter Rachel Garcia, and her mother Cynthia, Deborah's son Patrick D. Peacock and his many nieces and nephew, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
Jay found joy in the small pleasures of life, delighting in his mom's home-cooked meals, especially her Chicken French. He had a soft spot for chicken wings, a chilled Mountain Dew, and sugary sweet cereals like Captain Crunch, all of which he savored with great enthusiasm.
As an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan, Jay could often be found cheering for his favorite team, embodying the fervor and dedication that sports can inspire. His love for animals also defined him, illuminating his caring and compassionate spirit that will be dearly missed.
A loyal friend, Jay maintained lifelong connections, especially with his dear friend Chris Osika. He had a way of making everyone feel valued and cherished, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.
He was predeceased by his beloved grandparents, James & Ann Saporito and George & Ardell Cowley, who surely welcomed him with open arms and warm smiles.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation with family on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, this will be followed by a prayer service at 5:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, Westside, located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626.
Jay Saporito will be remembered for his unwavering love for family, his genuine kindness, and his ability to find joy in simple things. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and affection that will endure in the hearts of his loved ones, a gentle reminder of the quiet yet profound impact he had on their lives.
