Buffalo NY: Formerly of Spencerport, Suddenly, May 29, 2014 at the age of 27. She is survived by her father, Todd Crooks (fiancé , Suzanne Stafford), Mother, Susan Crooks (nee Meyer); Sister, Shannon (Scott) Cleere; Step brother Aiden Stafford; Nephews Alexander and Charles Cleere; grandparents Jack and Joyce Crooks, Dorthy Meyer; uncles Michael Crooks, David Meyer, Lawrence Meyer; aunt, Nancy (Paul) Pickard, Tracy Crooks; cousins, Caryn Crooks, Emily Crooks, Steven (Andrea) Meyer, Thomas Meyer, Garrett Piazza, numerous extended family members, beloved canine companions, lily and Scrappy; and her vast army of friends.

Jessica was compassionate and dedicated to helping and caring for all those around her. Graduating from the University of Buffalo with a Masters in Social Work, she pursued a career doing what came so naturally to her with Hospice Buffalo.

Jessica spent many summers as a child at the family's cottage on Silver Lake, returning often to share time with family and friends over the years. This was the foundation for her love of the outdoors, arts and crafts, cooking, wine tasting, adventure and simply seeking out new experiences. Most importantly these experiences helped form her deep love for family and friends, and her desire to help others.

Jessica loved to be with those she loved, and those that loved her. Her smile, her heart, and her compassion will be missed by all. In Jess's words – Live simply, Laugh often, Love deeply.

Friends and Family may call Saturday, June 7th, 2:00-4:00 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Avenue. Her Memorial Service will follow at 4:00 PM. Internment at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and family perform a random act of kindness for others in memory of Jessica; honoring her legacy of caring and helping those around her.
