Passed away on, October 11, 2019 at the age of 86.
Predeceased by her, husband, Donald; daughter, Lisa Smith; granddaughter, Marci Moore; brother, Walter Jelinski; sisters, Janet Ardito, and Mary Collumb.
She is survived by her sons, Mark (Phyllis), Scott (Tammy); daughters, Debra Moore, Anne Marie (James) Hemmerich; grandchildren, Mark, Eric, Andrea, Robert (Ciara), Aaron, Heather, Casey, Christopher, Cameron, Jared, Daryl Anne, Hannah, Victoria, Scout, & Autumn; sisters, Adrianne Jelinski, Mim Mim Betten; many nieces and nephews.
Joan was born the daughter of Valentine and Anna Jelinski in Newark, New Jersey and moved to Alfred, New York in 1969.
She was a stay at home mom, who went back to school at Alfred State College and graduated with her RN degree. Joan worked at Jones Memorial Hospital where she later retired from. She loved animals especially her Newfoundland dog, King Kong, cats Cocoa and Mischief, as well as ducks, geese, and horses.
Joan was a devout Catholic who enjoyed her bible study and being active with friends from St. Pius X Parish. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and admired the beauty and nature of flowers, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019, 10 am at St. Pius X, 3010 Chili Avenue, Rochester, NY.
