Penfield: Passed away on, August 27, 2016 at the age of 64.
Predeceased by her parents, Francis & Josephine Day; brother, Dr. Gerald F. Day.
She is survived by her sons, Patrick (Charity) & David; grandchildren, Cody & Madison; sister, Patricia (Ralph) Sayward; boyfriend, Dan Sprague; sister-in-law, Barbara Day; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joanne was a single mother who selflessly raised her two boys, always putting the needs of her family above her own. She was a caring, compassionate friend who loved to laugh and exchange witty banter. Joanne had a true appreciation for the outdoors and enjoying the beauties of nature. She loved to cruise, take weekend get-a ways, shop, paint, and enjoyed time with friends.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support in many heart-felt forms. A special thank you to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center.
Family will receive friends 6 - 8 PM, Friday, September 9, 2016 at New Comer Funeral Home, 6 Empire Blvd. Her Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 10, 2016 at St. John of Rochester, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport.
Memorials may be directed to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center.
