John Richard Bello, born on October 4, 1956, in Rochester, passed away on August 15, 2026. John’s life was characterized by steadfast dedication to his family, immeasurable love for those around him, and a spirit that enriched the lives of all who knew him.
John grew up in Rochester, where he formed deep roots and lasting bonds. Throughout his life, he was known for his integrity, compassion, and unwavering support for those he cared about. His guidance and steady presence were an enduring source of comfort to his family and friends.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Laverty Bello, who supported and cherished him throughout their years together. He leaves behind his son, Jason Bello; step-sons, Ethan Ransom and Tim Ransom; daughter, Aleshia Michael Stevenson; and step-daughter, Sarah Talavowski. John’s legacy also continues through his grandchildren, Alexandrea Bello and Joseph Hamilton, whose lives were brightened by his loving spirit.
He is remembered fondly by his sisters, Judith Bello and Jeanette Hutchison; his brother, James Bello; sisters-in-law Barbara Riveria and Phylis Bovenzi; brother-in-law Tony Bovenzi; nieces Michael Dinsmore, Rebecca Bello, Tonya Homer, Rachael Vergari, Kelly Lane, Shannan Nevol, Marissa Degaugh, and Victoria Murphy; and nephews Andrew Dismore, Jesse Bello, Gregory Bello, Adam Bello, Todd Hart, Logan Watson, Michael Watson, Domenick Watson, Rickey Lee Watson, Geremy Bovenzi, Tyrone Hart, Logan Nevol, and others whose lives he touched deeply.
John’s circle of cherished friends included Danial Traina, Jim Hamilton, and Joseph Talavolwski, each of whom will remember his loyalty and warmth.
He was predeceased by his father, Eugene Bello; his mother, June Bello; and his wife, Lynette Bello. Their memory lived on in John’s words and actions.
To honor John’s life, a visitation will be held on August 20, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, Westside, located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626.
